This was an emergency procurement for two catheters. Market research conducted was limited to the only known source that can provide the catheters on short notice. Results from previous acquisition for catheters showed that only Medtronic Covidien Sales LLC can provide the required catheters, but the quote provided included catheters currently made outside the United States. Medtronic Covidien Sales LLC is the only source that has the catheters on hand that can be shipped immediately required to work with the VA NTX Gastroenterology/Hepatology section's currently owned disposals and specialized medical equipment.
