Procurement Summary
The National Institute of Standards and Technology, Material Measurement Laboratory Chemical Sciences Division (CSD) is involved in the Innovations in Measurement Science (IMS) Project seeking to deliver a testbed for heterogeneous catalysts based on emerging X-ray characterization methods as a key component of the IMS. The IMS projects are competitively chosen for their potential for high impact on a scientific, engineering, and/or technological challenge that benefits society. They impact stakeholders at NIST, industry, commercial labs, other federal agencies, or academia. These capabilities are being commissioned at NIST’s X-ray facilities at the National Synchrotron Light Source II and involve the integration of a NIST-built detector to enable a first-of-kind measurement approach. In support of these efforts, the CSD will need to procure a UV-Vis spectrometer to perform technique intercomparison studies between a well-established tool (UV-Vis) and the measurement capabilities under development. The UV-Vis spectrometer will play a key role in the project by probing d-electron chemistry and screening samples prior to measurement at the X-ray facility.
