CMOS wafers (1 lot of 25)
Waiver type - Procurement: Nonavailability
Agency: NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STANDARDS AND TECHNOLOGY (1341) • Product Service Code (PSC) : 6640 | Last Modified: 01/22/2025
Procurement Summary
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Physical Measurement Laboratory , Nanoscale Device Characterization Division, Alternative Computing Group (ACG), requires the procurement of additional customized complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) wafers based on a previously developed reticle set owned by NIST for a wafer-scale 0.18um CMOS chip fabrication process. The CMOS wafers are designed to be used in developing a measurement and application testbed for novel electronic devices. Such an integrated measurement and application testbed is currently being used for parasitic-free novel device characterization as well as non-invasive imaging of complex circuits and systems. These wafers will be combined with the emerging memory technologies to allow for benchmarking the devices as stated in the initial proposal.
Waiver Rationale Summary
Consistent with market research results, no domestic product has been identified that can meet the Government's requirements. The required CMOS wafers are not mined, produced, or manufactured in the United States in sufficient and reasonably available commercial quantities, of satisfactory quality.
