Procurement Summary

This is an urgent requirement to replace the Gammacell 220 Excel Irradiator (GC220) with a refurbished Gammacell 220 Excel Irradiator (GC220) with a 1-year warranty. This requirement is limited to vendors that own Gammacells. The refurbished Gammacell 220 will include all of the operating components from Gammacell 220 SN: 126R, which will be removed and shipped to an off-site facility once the project order is received. The contractor will deliver a newly refurbished Gammacell 220 and the equipment required for moving the Gammacell 220 to the sallyport and unloading all of the Cobalt-60 sources.

Waiver Rationale Summary

This is an urgent requirement to replace the Gammacell 220 Excel Irradiator (GC220) with a refurbished Gammacell 220 Excel Irradiator (GC220) with a 1-year warranty. This requirement can only be fulfilled by vendors that own Gammacells. The Gammacell 220 Excel Irradiator (GC220) is manufactured in Canada by Atomic Energy of Canada Limited; therefore, no domestic manufacturer can meet the agency’s need.
