This requirement is for a brand name or equal Multiclamp 700B amplifier, Digidata 1550b digitizers, and PCLAMP 11 software that will be used by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke’s (NINDS) Cellular Neurophysiology Section (CNS). This equipment will be used for examining the cellular excitability of neurons located in the midbrain dopamine system and basal ganglia. High-quality amplifiers and digitizers are crucial to CNS’ research as this equipment will allow them to have direct access to the activity of neurons and to have very precise control over experimental parameters.
