Procurement Summary

This requirement is for the following commercial item, 3D Liver Microtissues Composed of Human Primary Hepatocytes and a Mixture of Human Primary Hepatocyte, Liver Endothelial Cells and Kupffer. The National Cener for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) requires 3D live microtissues composed of human primary hepatocytes and a mixture of human primary hepatocyte, liver endothelial cells and Kupffer cells. These 3D liver microtissues will be used to study viral infectivity, effects of viral infectivity on liver function biomarkers, and effect of anti-viral compounds on viral infection. The liver microtissues of different cell type composition will allow NCATS to assess the role of the different cell types on the readouts above. If successful, this assay platform of 3D liver microtissues might be integrated in a panel of tissues to study panels of viruses and anti-infective drugs.
