Urgent Request for SQA-VISION Automated Sperm Quality Analyzer The Louis Stokes Cleveland VAMC, Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service (PLMS); Hematology Section presently performs semen analysis for fertility and post vasectomy samples using a manual method. This method is very time consuming and can have variables due to the manual nature of the testing process. At the present time, there is and continues to be a shortage of qualified medical technologist to fill positions in PLMS. The acquisition of this automated semen analyzer would greatly increase the efficiency of the available medical technologist to attend to more complicated tasks regarding patient laboratory testing, quality management, and regulatory adherence. This system would also cut testing costs and provide new parameters for semen analysis that can be used by the Urology Service in serving our veterans. The system should be fully automated with the ability to perform not only testing but also quality control. The system should be current to the WHO 5th Edition testing criteria for semen analysis. The automated system should be able to provide quality control, calibration, and cleaning/maintenance material to verify the performance of the testing system. The market research for this type of analyzer was conducted at the 2022 American Association of Clinical Chemistry (AACC) meeting in Chicago, IL and followed up by a vendor search on the internet. The following results were yielded. This is an urgent request for the acquisition of the SQA-VISION Automated Sperm Analyzer based on the above information.
