The Zeiss Inverted Microscope System is essential for influenza virus research as it enables a comprehensive evaluation of the virus at the cellular level and offers advanced capabilities for detailed visualization of both fluorescence and histochemistry images. CDC conducts various types of research to support efforts in identifying immunological and pathogenicity markers responsible for influenza replication and virulence. Microscopes are one of the tools utilized that allow CDC to evaluate the different ways cells and influenza viruses interact and respond, and this type of instrument needs to be readily available whenever needed.
