The pharmaceutical is supplied by the VA Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) via direct mail order pharmacy services to a Veteran or beneficiary’s place of residence.

Waiver Rationale Summary

This determination is for the pharmaceutical Clindamycin and is supplied to Veterans via VA's CMOP pharmacy which provides direct mail order pharmacy services to the Veteran and/or beneficiary’s residence. Historically, the pharmaceutical could be purchased via VA's Pharmaceutical Prime Vendor (PPV) program. However, the pharmaceutical is not currently available via the PPV contract. Therefore, open market procurements are the only options that exist at this time. The market research efforts (and the anticipated competitive solicitation) resulted in no domestic end products for the pharmaceutical that meet VA's requirements.
