Waiver Rationale Summary

This instrument upgrade is needed to characterize the isotopes of fatty acids and contaminants in support of the Agency’s Strategic Research Action Plan (StRAP). This will allow direct quantification of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and sulfur isotopes in biological media and sediments. This instrument will support ongoing projects within the SSWR, CSS, and ACE research program providing technical support to municipalities, states, and EPA regional offices.
