To purchase a photoacoustic black carbon (BC) mass analyzer for measuring the BC concentrations of particulate matter emitted from internal combustion engines. The photoacoustic BC mass analyzer must be able to measure BC mass concentrations ranging from 0.001 mg/m3 to 150 mg/m3. This instrument will supplement existing aerosol mass, size, and number instruments being used to evaluate particulate matter emissions from vehicle combustion engines.
